Kimberly K's Quilty Beginnings

Hello Quilter,

I'm so glad you're here.

I have used a sewing machine since I was in second grade. I usually made clothes or curtains. I attempted to quilt a panel on my domestic machine and failed miserably. I had no idea there was such a thing as a “walking foot”.....I see that grin – everybody has to start somewhere…wink. When I got my first embroidery machine, I started personalizing cuddle blankets for family and friends. Eventually I was asked to make a "quilt" for a baby in the family. Of course I had to add embroidery to it, but when I did the actual quilting WITH a walking foot.....I was hooked. Creating that textured look was so fun and satisfying.

Now I use a computerized longarm to create a much greater variety of textures. My favorite part of longarming is seeing the endless creativity of quilters, both from the pattern design and from the color and fabric choices. It is very satisfying to be able to compliment the quilter’s creativity with either subtle or dramatic stitching, whichever the quilter chooses.

I can't wait to see your creative masterpiece and give it the textured finish it deserves.
